Sometimes I think it would be nice to go to a fancy restaurant and order dessert first. I love dinner, but main courses last better as leftovers than dessert does. Plus, I am a firm believer that you eat with your eyes first, and nothing looks better than a well plated dessert.
In fact, I love dessert so much, I find any excuse to eat it.
Here I bring you apple pie...for breakfast.
APPLE PIE OATMEAL
1 c. almond milk
1/4 c. quick cooking oats
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. apple pie spice
1 tbs. maple syrup
1 small apple, peeled and diced
Cinnamon, for garnish
In a small pot, add the almond milk and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add in the oats, and stir.
Once the oatmeal has thickened slightly, go ahead and add in the rest of the ingredients and stir until the oatmeal is of a desired consistency.
Serve in a bowl, and top with a little bit of cinnamon. Enjoy!
